With a total floor area of approximately 2,900m2 spread out over two levels, the community-based ambulatory care centre served a number of purposes. First and foremost, it provides women, children and families with general health needs. It has a chronic care sector for people with multiple complex needs, along with a section for mental health, alcohol and drug problems, including prevention and early detection. Furthermore, the centre cares for Aboriginal communities, and educates all on healthy lifestyles across the board. The main structures featured were with stylised, exposed timber trusses. The entire project was lightweight and metal clad. Additionally, a link bridge was constructed to provide access to the adjacent existing facility, along with an exterior asphalt carpark and landscaping through the grounds.
